2025 March 25 update

Members of the SFE team conduct the "punch list" walk through of the new fire station on March 25.

It's official: Summit Fire & EMS is planning a grand opening for the new fire station in Silverthorne at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4! This event will be free and open to the public, and we'll officially dedicate the station and offer tours and who knows what else! Save the date!

Meanwhile, several of our SFE team members conducted a "punch list" walk-through of the station yesterday with the folks from Hyder Construction to see what details still need to be completed or fixed, and, we gotta say, the joint is looking great! We still don't have appliances in place, nor any of the furnishings for the offices, bedrooms and various other edifices. But some workers were busy the whole time conducting end-of-project tasks such as polishing up the can lights in the kitchen ceiling, cleaning windows and mopping floors in the store rooms off the engine bay, while others were painting, affixing outlets and any number of other duties. It's very exciting!

Empty room with gray carpet, white walls, and a ceiling with lights and vents. A person in a safety vest is visible through the window.
Getting close if the workers are cleaning windows, here outside one of the crew bedrooms.
Industrial space with open garage doors, a pile of cardboard, pallets, and a microwave on a table. Concrete floor and high ceiling.
The engine bays are substantially completed.
A hallway with doors, a reflective floor, overhead lights, an open door, and a fire extinguisher.
Three large appliances wrapped in protective plastic, likely being prepared for installation.
